Two local players named as WIAA Athletes of the Week

The WIAA recognized two local basketball players as Athletes of the Week.
Elma’s Jalyn Sackrider was one of the award winners.
The WIAA said “Sackrider helped her team win the district championship by scoring 19 (Castle Rock), 21 (Stevenson), and 14 points in the championship game against King’s Way Christian. Additionally, she averaged 10 rebounds and three blocks per game for the tournament.”
Taholah’s Nettie Mail was the other award winner.
The WIAA said “Mail contributed to her team’s district championship with her leadership and strong performances. She was also voted first team all-league.”
