Montesano trounces Aberdeen in opener

Montesano, WA – The Montesano Bulldogs controlled the game from the opening kick to the final whistle on Friday night at Jack Rottle Field for the opener of the 2019 season.

The Bulldogs dominated and beat the Aberdeen Bobcats 59-0.

Montesano was led by Aydan Darst who had 141 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 11 carries and Sam Winter who had six catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns as well.

Winter caught one TD on a trick play from fellow receiver Braden Dohrmann and another from quarterback Trace Ridgway.

Ridgway also ran for a score on the night.

Senior Kicker Jordan King had an excellent night as he converted 6-7 extra points and he was 3-3 on field goal attempts including one from 47 yards out.

The scoring was rounded out late in the game by Isaiah Pierce and Kasen Willis-Werner who each had rushing TDs.

Tune in next week for the Myrtle Street Rivalry Game as the Bobcats head to Hoquiam to take on the Grizzlies at Olympic Stadium.
