Hoquiam uses dominant second half to beat Aberdeen

In our Bi-Mart Game of the Week the Hoquiam Grizzlies dominated the second half over the Aberdeen Bobcats to get the 56-24 win in the girls Myrtle Street match-up.

Hoquiam outscored the Bobcats  35-8 in the second half.

Aberdeen was up 9-7 after the first quarter thanks to a buzzer beating jumper by Emmy Walsh.

The Grizzlies took the lead in the second quarter and took a 21-16 lead into halftime.

Then in the third quarter, Hoquiam switched to a man defense and pressured Aberdeen, which led to a 36-20 lead after three.

The Grizzlies got hotter in the fourth and outscored the Bobcats 20-4 in the final frame to grab the 32 point win.

Our Players of the Game were Rylee Vonhof and Kylee Bagwell who each had 14 points on the night.

Vonhof added 18 rebounds and Bagwell had a great overall defensive performance with at least three blocks and three steals.

For Aberdeen, Walsh led the way with six points and Kennedy Pruett had nine rebounds in the losing effort.
